But mainly because Lauren Faust, the creator, worked on Powerpuff Girls and I wanted to see her genius portrayed in a pony show.

It's really not that bad.

So, here's what I think the ponies would wear if they were humanified.
No hair, it'll block the clothes.

Left to right: Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie.

Might color.
Might do more.

I-I dunno. I like Pinkie's. Fluttershy's is a little... plain. But hey, so is she, so... Dash's... Meh. It's detailed and all, but I don't like it.
